100th Year Celebration: Women Win the Vote!

As the 2020 election approaches, the National Congress of Black Women, Inc. joins many organizations from around the nation to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the Women’s Suffrage Movement, the campaign for women’s right to vote.

Women from every walk of life and various ethnic and racial backgrounds came together bravely demanding their right to be heard, and today you can honor them by being a part of the excitement that is the 2020 Women Suffrage Celebration float for the Tournament of Roses Parade.

This prominent event will feature the Women Suffrage Celebration float followed by 100 out-walkers dressed in white. Although we honor those brave women who paved the way for our right to be heard each time we cast our vote, participation in the Tournament of Roses Parade presents several opportunities to once again come together to say our voices and our choices matter.

Centennial Float for the Tournament of Roses Parade: Pasadena Celebrate s 2020

Together with women and men in every state, the Pasadena Celebrates 2020 initiative plans to hold a year of victory celebrations honoring women winning the vote, one hundred years ago. And what could be a better day for the first celebration than January 1, 2020?

In keeping with our history, we are building a glorious float that will appear in the 2020 Tournament of Roses Parade. The theme is Years of Hope. Years of Courage. and will portray the courage, hope, and persistence that was required to be victorious after a 72-year struggle for women’s equality and justice.
